Girlfriends Galore and Party Plans

I had mentioned in a previous post how challenging it has been to wind the girls down at night in prep for our "school night routine" (bath, p.j.s, teeth brushing, prayers, reading, etc.). Beckoning the girls inside while they are right in the middle of playing with friends or sending those home who don't belong to me, is difficult to do, even for me when I see how much fun they are having. This move to the new house has been tough, but finding a neighborhood literally FULL of girls has been a treasure!

The photo below proves that sometimes the distractions of friends is more important than getting to bed on time (although I don't plan on making this a regular thing. We definitely "payed for it" the next morning when the girls woke up grumpy and tired). With 25 minutes left of "playtime", the crowds came a-flocking. Before I even knew it, all the girls stormed into the house, pulled out the make-up and dress-ups and started their "Girls' Night Out". But, this scene was too cute to pass up.

On the bed, sit nine princess in training (only four of which are mine)

They glammed each other up, with David Archuleta playing in the background and then went into the dance studio (yes, dance studio - it came with the house) to have their PAH-TAY!...just in time for the girls' mothers to start calling, looking for them. I had to send them all home (gaudy make-up and all) just after they had gotten themselves primped up. I hoped all their mother's wouldn't kill me for sending them home in this state (ha-ha), but most of them said they didn't mind when they saw their "princesses".

Here is a picture of the dance studio under the garage. With a room like this, I'm afraid our house has just become the "main attraction". The parties have just begun! I better be ready for them. Brooklyn seems to have a mind of her own when it comes to taking charge of "playtime". She's quite the "events planner". I guess she takes after her dad (who does that for a living. Needless to say, this will be a great room for the kids to play, create, and make-believe in during the long winter months to come. I think Darin and I could plan a fun adult party in this room...can you see an impromptu talent show coming on? Careful if you get a party invite from us...it just may include a special guest performance from some of YOU! Let's get ready to rumble!
