One new thing we did together, as sisters, is "run" the Six Tunnels to Hoover Dam 5K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. I have "run" in quotations because that is a slight exaggeration. There was very little running involved. An occasional "trot" was exhibited by a couple of us, but not much running. My baby sister, Suzi, because of her cancer treatments, was left with very little lung capacity. Any physical exertion leaves her body winded. So, we decided to walk the 5K with her, as sisters, and cross the finish line together.
Unfortunately, it was an extremely chilly a.m. in the desert. My sisters planned for it and dressed much warmer for the race. I, on the other hand, had very few layers, etc. The wind was bitter. We also had to "hike" down to the starting line. That walk in and of itself was long. Other than that, it was a beautiful day and we had a really fun time doing it.
My sister, Heidi, blogged about this on our other family blog page. HERE and HERE are the links to her posts (the latter includes photos of which I commandeered for this post). Cute. Fun memories made here.
