Locks of Love

The girls finally got their hair cut! It was something that needed to be done long ago. After months of tangles, snarls, hurty heads, and tears, we finally did it. However, something good did come out of the long wait. Brooklyn, Makenna, and Dakota all donated their hair to the Locks of Love Foundation, a non-profit organization that makes hairpieces out of donated hair for children who have permanent or temporary hair loss because of varying illnesses. They have seen first hand their Aunt Suzi's beautiful bald head, resulting from all the chemo-therapy she has gone through, so the girls wanted to help kids who also have lost their hair from cancer. After they each filled out the donation form (including comments on why they chose to do this) and assembling the envelopes, we drove down to the post office to send them off. It was a cool experience. Aside from their cute hair cuts (thanks to Jessie in our ward), they have cute smiles resulting from the "feel-good" opportunity of serving others in need.
I love my little angels!
