Christmas Card 2010

The Bishopric in our ward sends out a holiday card to all the households in the neighborhood each year.  This year, he asked Darin to submit his artwork to be featured on the card (instead of buying a predesigned card).   He did not ask Darin to do a new piece for it.  The Bishop intended to use one of the drawings he had already done.  However, none of the previous pieces seemed to fit.  So, Darin took it upon himself to do one "really quick".  And that he did.  Start to finish it was only about a week or two.  Crazy.  He used a "model" from our ward (Emery J.), holding a baby doll.  Then, he added Dakota as an infant into the picture as he drew it.  Then, as if he had all the time in the world between work and his calling, he decided to add another brand-new drawing to be added on the back of the card along with the credits...a baby yawning.  That, too, is our little Dakota.  How he did these so fast is beyond me.  He truly worked a miracle (with a little divine help, I'm sure).  I think they turned out beautiful and the Christmas cards were very well received.  Act surprised if you get one another year from us.  Hee, hee.

P.S.  The titles of the artwork are "With Wondering Awe" and "Sleep in Heavenly Peace" respectfully.  The verse inside read, "...look forward unto the Messiah, and believe in him to come."  Jarom 1:11

(No reproducing please.)

A HApPY ChRisTmAs to ALL!
