Our cute little Dakota turned 7 years-old on January 10th. We are so happy that she is growing up to be a beautiful, HEALTHY little girl. Each year that passes with no major bumps in the road in regards to her NF, we celebrate!
She opened all of her family presents the day before her birthday, had a heart-shaped waffle dinner on the red "I Am Special" plate on the 13th, and then had a birthday party with several of her friends on the 15th. She basically got to celebrate 3 times, lucky girl!
This year was a "friend" birthday party year. (I only do these for the
kiddos every other year.) This time we chose a Chinese New Year theme.
It was a hoot! Activities included a race to see who could pick up the most cotton balls with chopstick, a koi fish pond, learning chinese words, year of the dragon charades (where they had to act out various chinese calendar animals), a chinese dragon craft and parade, dancing to chinese music, and a huge chinese food feast (thanks to DH for cooking a lot of the food). They also got goody bags and colorful rice paddy hats. It was a success!
