Pretty in Pink

I admit...I love my girls in pink...dress-ups, hair ribbons, hats, boots, other accessories. I didn't always feel this way about the color of Pepto-Bismol. Before we had our first baby (even though we knew it was a GIRL), I did not want to buy pink. No blankets, no clothes, no nursery bedding, no pink paint, no nothing. Yes, we got some of that "color" as gifts and yes I did buy an occasional pair of tights, socks and headbands in that color, but that was it. I bought a lot of baby blue to match Baby Girl #1's eyes. Then Baby Girl #2 came along. She looked gorgeous in yellow with her olive skin and yellow-brown eyes (and a tiny bit of pink). Then we had Baby Girl #3. She looked cute in Purple (and a little more pink). Then Baby Girl #4 arrived. What color was left? They don't make much else for little girls, but PINK. We were destined for pink. The color has grown on me. I have even branched out a little in my wardrobe and started to wear pink (not something I did much before.) And even Darin, (father of 4 princesses and extremely outnumbered in the house) has a favorite pink button up shirt that soon became a standard at work every Wednesday. And he looks good in it. (Don't let Troy N. convince you otherwise.)

Pink has now become a standard in our house. We have a lot of it and there is just no fighting it. Well, there is fighting going on...over the pink plates/cups/bowls, the pink suckers, pink hair clips, and pink whatever else. And the little ones literally fall apart if they don't get it. Sometimes, we get them all pink, to avoid the fighting. What can I say? When they come this cute in pink...you can't resist!

  1. I know that life! In fact, one of our favorite books at our house is Pinkalicious and now Purplicious. If you haven't already, check them out. They're fun.
I actually love specializing in girls. They are adorable, stimulating and smart. I wouldn't change it for anything!
(I painted one of their rooms pink.. the first time in history.)

  2. You know, it's funny. I've always hated the color pink. I think because it is associated with being wimpy....who knows.....my SM knows never to buy me pink clothes....and then all of a sudden recently....I'm liking pink....and I'm buying pink....and my SM is confused and is wondering what would happen if he bought me something pink....because pink was in that DO NOT category and now I'm just confirming what every male out there has always said....women are fickle......I like pink now...YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT? "You can't handle the pink......." :D
