Max Convention Opening Show

Part of Darin's job description is overseeing Events and Recognition, including the company's annual convention.  Last year's convention was a huge success even though he had only 3 months to plan it.  All the recognition portions of the events at Nu Skin were amazingly successful as well when he was employed by them.

This year's convention came with some major, major (almost catastrophic) hiccups.  His two female employees took it upon themselves to implement the event leaving Darin out of most of the planning, budgeting, scheduling, entertainment, etc., and it shows.  The event will not be as well received and outside vendors are already expressing their wish to pull out and never do business with Max again.  I just hope that it won't reflect on Darin.  Things have not been great at work.  He is miserable and can't seem to get any support from the higher ups.  They just keep telling him to keep quiet until this event is over and then they will take care of the situation.  Let's just hope Darin can last that long.  This whole process has been horrible.

One good thing that came from this, however, was the girls' opportunity to be on stage.  They learned a short little dance and Brooklyn got to sing (a short 4-line part) with two other "divas" in front of thousands of spectators at the Salt Palace.  She did amazing and, frankly, stole the show!  A full marching band entered from the back during the real performance...the kids and singers had never practiced with the band before that night and it proved to be quite overwhelming (volume and crowd-wise).  Even though the opener was potentially a flop (Darin and other vendors had to step in during the eleventh hour to "save" it), it gave the girls a little taste of stardom, including all-you-can eat snacks and beverages in the "green room" back stage.  I took a few photos of them backstage and during rehearsals and during the show.
