Inspirations Contest 2011

The Inspirations Art Contest to charter schools is what the The Reflections Art Contest is to the public schools.  Now that my kids go to a charter school, they compete with other students from other charter schools, instead of with others students within the school district.  Our themes differ from those of Reflections, as well, each year.

This year, Inspirations 2011's theme was "If Only..."  Brooklyn, Makenna, and Dakota all competed this year in the 2D Visual Arts Category.  Brooklyn painted a hummingbird and called it "Dreams Taking Off".  Makenna painted a picture titled, "The Gumball Garden", and Dakota painted a picture called "The Dancing Duo" where she and her Build-a-bear unicorn, Betsy, are dancing on stage together.

They all took 1st place in their age categories.  Because we are a new school and are not set up to compete outside of the school, yet, the girls' paintings will not go on to another level.  They are hoping that next year the competition will continue.  Congrats!
