Halloween 2009 - Little Red Riding Hood and Friends
I already posted a few photos of the girls in their Halloween costumes on facebook, but here I can post more, 'cuz it's my blog and I can boast if I want to. So, I will boast...my kids are pretty darn cute! There...I did it. Now, here are the pics to prove it.
I have to admit, these photos were taken on the Monday before Halloween. I didn't even take pics on the actual holiday. The girls have to dress up so many times (four, to be exact) during that week for various parties, school parade, and Halloween. So, I think it's better to capture their excitement the first time they dress up, because the novelty is still there. They are excited to BE the character. It didn't seem as harried, even though we still had a party to run off to for their theater class. I thought they were cast perfectly for their parts, although Makenna wasn't too happy after the make-up beard was applied. She was embarrassed. I didn't think she would even let me take pictures of her, but she warmed up soon enough. You can see that she is holding back tears in some of her head shots. Darin made "Little Red's" cape. It turned out adorable. Thanks, Daddy! Brooklyn's cane became a treacherous prop Halloween night. While Darin was waiting in the car for the girls while they were going from door to door, he saw Makenna's candy go flying as well as Makenna herself, as she tripped over Granny's cane. Splat! all over the grass. Darin said he was laughing so hard. Luckily, she was not hurt, as she landed on grass. She popped back up, collected her loot and continued on her quest of begging for treats.

How fun! I love the pics of them acting parts of the story. It sounds like they had a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky your kids will do such a fun theme... If my girls aren't a pretty princess, fairies, or something girlie they won't do it!
